Get Ready! MercyFest 2019 is on its way! MercyFest will take place from October 10th through the 13th. Building on the momentum of last year’s fest, the proceeds of which funded a new sound system in the church, our goal this year is to upgrade to energy efficient lighting in the PLC. This can only occur with your support of MercyFest. If you have never purchased a raffle ticket, please consider doing so this year. This year’s raffle will have one large grand prize, second through fourth place prizes, as well as five early bird drawings, so purchase your cket early for more chances to win! New this year, if you purchase or sell a five-pack of tickets, you will receive a FREE ticket for yourself!

Thursday night kicks everything off with an All U Can Eat Pizza dinner and the DJ stylings of parishioner John Werle. Of course, the Carnival will be in full swing as well. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the MercyFest Pub & Grill will open featuring music, projection screens, fun activities, and the selection of food and drinks MercyFest is known for. Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of the weekend and enjoy lunch and dinner at MercyFest!

We are very excited to announce our entertainment lineup this year. Friday evening will feature the return of Joe Hanson at 7PM. Joe is quickly growing in popularity and you may have even seen him play at Ribfest this past summer. On Saturday...back by popular demand...7th HEAVEN will be returning to the MercyFest stage at 7PM! One of the most popular bands in the Chicagoland area, 7th Heaven has charted #1 on the Midwest Billboard Charts three times in the past three years and have been featured on radio stations across the Midwest. 7th Heaven is an experience that you just must see and hear!

Other events throughout the weekend include our brand new Kids’ Dash starting at 8:30 AM on Saturday followed by the annual “Have Mercy On Our Soles” 5K at 9AM. We also feature a basket raffle, kids’ activities, acapella singing by area choruses, the silent auction, All U Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner, and much more!

Carnival rides will continue all weekend long with wristbands for only $25.00 on Saturday and Sunday from 12PM 5PM. You may purchase wristbands and tickets in advance on our website at www.mercyfestaurora.com. Don’t forget that we also have our “Can Do” Carnival allowing for families with special needs children to enjoy the carnival on Sunday from 12PM 2PM.

We have partnered with Hesed House once again this year and a portion of our proceeds will be donated to assist our neighbors in need. Remember, MercyFest is about more than fun and games, it is about building our Christian community and spreading the Mercy of Christ to all, so please invite your friends and family to join us as well.

I am also happy to announce that due to its overwhelming success...the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, also known as “Light the Night,” will return to the church sanctuary again this year. Please come and experience Christ in a truly unique and memorable way!

Every year MercyFest brings our parish together in service to each other and our community. In all, MercyFest needs about 400 volunteers to be successful. If you feel called, there are many ways to contribute over the course of the weekend and on the planning committee. If you have a couple of hours to help, please sign up after mass to volunteer! Please help make this year’s MercyFest the best ever!
